To commemorate the engagement of Prince William to Kate Middleton, the Royal Mint is releasing their first ever Royal Engagement coin. The collector’s item has been announced as a £5 coin featuring the portraits of both Kate and the Prince, with a subtle play of the traditional royal portrait, with Prince William angled to display his profile, but Kate looking straight on.
After receiving approval from Her Majesty The Queen and Prince William, the coin is now on sale from the Royal Mint in silver, gold plated, and gold proof crowns, ranging from £9.99 to a staggering £1,550 in price.
